Rae is known for her expressive, richly coloured paintings, and has exhibited throughout Europe and America. Her work is most often inspired by long periods spent in different landscape environments which she then distils and translates into multi-layered works. Her ease with watercolour is seen in this expressive watercolour from the early 1990s.
