Museum Without Walls

Launched in October 2015, the Museum Without Walls strategy has developed a programme of touring exhibitions with partner institutions across the UK centred on works from the Fleming Collection.  The landmark show Scottish Colourists from The Fleming Collection, which is on-going, has already traversed the country from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Birmingham to Hull to Banbridge in Northern Ireland.  Partner galleries have been: Granary Gallery, Berwick-upon-Tweed; The Barber Institute, University of Birmingham; University of Hull Art Collection; Maclaurin Gallery, Ayr; FE McWilliam Gallery and Studio; and Abbot Hall Art Gallery.

Smaller groups and individual works are regularly loaned to support both long-term displays and temporary exhibitions in public institutions. Partner galleries have included Tate Britain and Tate St Ives; Scottish National Galleries; Fitzwilliam Museum; Millenium Gallery: Museums Sheffield; Charleston Trust; Pallant House and Clifton Park Museum, Rotherham.

If you would like to become a partner of the Fleming Collection and borrow works please contact us.
