This gouache on panel portrays the Tay Bridge that connects Dundee and the Fife suburb of Wormit across the Firth of Tay in Scotland. Kings' paintings mostly depict modern buildings and street corners that are lacking of any evident signs of life.

Tarka Kings, born 1961
Born in London, Kings trained at the Royal Academy Schools from 1981 until 1987. The subject-matter of her paintings is mostly modern buildings, post-war blocks of flats and street corners, all devoid of any obvious signs of life - no people or traffic - which gives them a still, timeless quality. They are executed in a cool palette, broken by dashes of colour.
