Mark I'Anson, born 1968
Mark I'Anson was born in 1968 in Glasgow. From 1988 to 1992, he attended Grays School of Art in Aberdeen.Mark has been a full-time painter. His works begin as drawings inspired by everyday scenes and photographs, or a combination of the two. His work has since been exhibited in group and solo shows. He dabbles in a variety of mediums, but he favours pencil, occasionally tinted with watercolour or acrylic. 'Scotland's Dream Team,' a major commission for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, was completed in 2003. This exhibition features twelve large works depicting Scotland's greatest football players over the last century. I'Anson is currently based on Scotland's east coast. His work is displayed in numerous private and public collections in the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe and Canada.
