Kennedy grew up in Glasgow near the river Clyde which is where he could have gotten inspiration from seeing dry docks structures maintaining ships under repair . During his childhood he had a fixation with transport which is reflected into his paintings as is the history of air travel.

Adam Kennedy, born 1988
Adam Kennedy is a Glasgow-based Scottish artist that was born in 1988. In 2007-2009, Kennedy studied Intermedia Art at Edinburgh College of Art before moving on to study Oil & Japanese Painting at Kyoto Seika University. As a result, the artist learned a variety of painting mediums. His current work focuses on architecture from the late nineteenth century. It also includes site-specific installation and sculpture inspired by the history of airline travel, as well as drawings and paintings reflecting his childhood obsession with transportation and growing up in Glasgow near the River Clyde. On the same surface, he uses oil, acrylic, and watercolour. The various mediums react to form textures reminiscent of aged metal and tones similar to those found in a typical Glasgow sky and the ageing sandstone of Glasgow architecture. The paintings are a visually accurate depiction of Glaswegian architecture, but they are also a slightly abstract collage of mediums.
