
The Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation, in partnership with Scotland House London, is delighted to announce the fourth edition of The Emerging Scottish Artist of the Year award, a yearly bursary created to celebrate and support the next generation of visual artists emerging from Scotland’s universities.
The award is open to final-year Undergraduate and Graduate students, and recent graduates from 2024 to 2026 who studied at a Scottish art institution. We are inviting submissions of original work from all visual disciplines, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video, and mixed media.
The Award
• £1,500 bursary
• One-year display of the selected artwork at Scotland House London (audio visual station with listening space will be provided for audio/visual works)
• A celebratory event and interview with the artist will be held at Scotland House London on 3 December 2026, bringing together cultural stakeholders, curators, collectors etc.
• Return train travel from Scotland to London and accommodation in London for the winning artist to attend the award ceremony will be fully covered
Submission Details
Deadline for entries: 31 October 2026
Submissions must include:
• A short artist statement (max 300 words)
• A brief CV (max 2 pages)
• Up to 5 images or a video of your proposed work
• 2D Work maximum size: 220 x 205 cm
• 3D Work maximum Size: 132 x 160 x 30 (depth) cm
